Vintage Floral Needlepoint Rug

Our hand-embroidered Sacred Cow pichwai depicts a series of sacred cows. A floral and vine border frames the cows who alternate between tan and white. Each cow is adorned with colorful garlands. Silk thread on cotton. 53" x 72"

Beautiful peacocks make up the border of this Mochi embroidered pichwai. A soft color palette gives this pichwai a more delicate feel. The pichwai depicts Krishna surrounded by his attendants, or gopis. Lush trees stand over Krishna and are flanked by the sun and moon. The lower half of the pichwai shows sacred cows and lotus flowers growing from a pond. Silk thread on cotton. Mochi, or cobbler, embroidery is a special embroidery technique which uses an awl. 68" x 69.5"
