This wonderful cotton pichwai depicts gopis, or attendants of Krishna. The gopis are seen carrying fans, necklaces, fly whisks, and other objects. Multiple birds sit atop the three large trees.  The gopis are depicted above a row of cows and lotus flowers. The gold paint adds more dimension and makes this a beautiful textile. 87" x 59"

Beautiful peacocks make up the border of this Mochi embroidered pichwai. A soft color palette gives this pichwai a more delicate feel. The pichwai depicts Krishna surrounded by his attendants, or gopis. Lush trees stand over Krishna and are flanked by the sun and moon. The lower half of the pichwai shows sacred cows and lotus flowers growing from a pond. Silk thread on cotton. Mochi, or cobbler, embroidery is a special embroidery technique which uses an awl. 69.5" x 71"
